Brians' preamble....
Radio Memories is the result of a ( life-time ) hobby and keen interest in Radio reception. It started for me at about the age of 7 years, when my Grandmother bought me a second-hand valve radio,
which I promptly set about dismantling, never to be re-assembled,a learning experience!,
well that's my excuse.
(anyone remember Sat-sales at the Horse Bridge in Whitstable.......now a new developement )
At school during the 1950,s building crystal sets and experimenting with any electrical items I could get my hands on was my only interest, much to the serious concern of other people.
Having served my apprenticeship with a local firm (D & S Gaywood) 1955-1960,then working for Radio Rentals as a service engineer (Canterbury) then Manager (Folkestone - Maidstone )1960-1979,
then self-employed ( Aerial Services-Whitstable )up to May 2004, now retired :
my lifes work has been to do with the radio T.V. and communications industry.
Our collection is NOT now open as a business/museum- shop CLOSED May 2004.
