Amateur Wireless 1928 Gift ideas Xmas 1928'
The cover of this Amateur Wireless magazine for December 1928 shows a colour TV being watched with what looks like the facility for 2 way video -audio ( todays' SKYPE )also with sub-titles or may be a kind of teletext ?. Considering even black & white TV was in its' infancy , the foresight to envisage such a system being available is truly amazing. Also it appears as though the transmission is international/worldwide ( without satellites ? )
Whilst inside the magazine ,pictures are showing what now seems to be rather primative items, but of course were the latest components for the home contructor / D.I.Y. enthusiast ( If you still have any of these item you may wish to dispose of..... , please let us know at,

Moving forwrd just 8 years to 1936 shows great steps forward in the wireless/radio industry , commercially available receivers of considerably improved performance were becoming available to the general public.
Here Wireless World for July 1936 shows a Cossor mains operated radio receiver , even giving the internal workings and a circuit diagram 'to boot'
Not very long after this time the main manufacturers were becoming much more secretive about the workings of thier products , even to the extent of having 'authorised dealerships' which were much sought after by independant firms.
